Daily Creative: Five Minute Writing



Fridays are writing activity days here at the Daily Creative, so grab your pen and journal or paper and let's get started.

  1. Conjure up a meal you have eaten that meant something to you. Maybe it was a decadent meal at a fancy restaurant, or your favorite dinner from childhood. Take a moment to really sit in the memory of that meal. Where were you? What smells were there? How was the lighting? Who were you with?

  2. Write about that meal. Write every detail you can remember. Write about how you felt. Write whatever comes to mind, even if it surprises you. Write without stopping, and if you get stuck, describe something on the plate and go from there.

Now I'm craving my mother's fried chicken...
