Part of building creative muscle involves quieting the mind. New ideas occur when you have space for them to appear. A creative practice helps create space and quiet in the mind as well as nurturing creative skills. Come back every day for new activities to help build your own creative practice.
Today, grab a pencil and paper (or journal) and a mug or cup. Set a timer for 2 minutes, and sketch the cup. When time is up, turn the cup till you have a different perspective of it, and sketch it again. If your inner critic arrives "I can't draw," "This is terrible", remind yourself there is no right or wrong in this exercise. The point of the work is in the doing, not in the finished product. Just keep moving forward. You've got this!
