Make Playful Music: Sunday Daily Creative, May 17, 2020

Welcome to Music Sunday! Sundays will be dedicated to creative musical activities, so come on back every week to get those creative juices jamming.

When we are feeling uncreative or stuck, finding a way to be playful can be immensely helpful. You might do something simple like play a game with a friend, or dance to a favorite song. Today, it's time to be playful by making your own music.

Take five glasses from your cabinet. They must be made of glass- plastic won't work well. Fill each one with a different amount of water. Yep, you guessed it, you will be playing those glasses. Take a metal utensil and tap on the side of each glass to hear the different tones. Now go to town! Try to play songs, or just make up your own. Try changing the amounts of water in the glasses to find different notes. Try to write one song, and if you are feeling really motivated, write some words to go with it. The most important thing is to have fun. And who knows, maybe you will end up creating a true masterpiece!
